Glossary


Campaign: otherwise known as a mailout

Mailing List: a list of subscribers associated with a particular newsletter.

e.g your business may have one newsletter it sends to subscribers specifically interested in vitamins, and another it sends to those subscribers with a broader interest in wellbeing. Each would have its own mailing list. In this case the subscription form would have 2 checkboxes that would allow subscribers to select which newsletter they would like to receive. They could also elect to receive both.

Subscriber: a customer who elects to go on your mailing list bu filling out a form.

Mailout limit: the number of individual email newsletters that can be sent from your account per month.

Double opt-in: when a customer subscribes to your mailing list they will be send a confirmation email with a link that must be clicked to activate the subscription. This process is called "double opt-in" and helps to ensure that a person's email address is not added to a mailing list without their knowledge.
