My name is Michael Hayes, and I provide all design and implementation services for The Online Shop Designer (TOSD). To do this I draw on more than a decade's experience developing and managing online shops and web sites in general. In addition I have extensive project management experience gained while working in the corporate world, coupled with nine years experience operating small businesses within the gift industry.
My unusual combination of skills and experiences mean that I am well placed to offer prospective clients a depth of understanding and practical solutions that would not be common in a dedicated website programmer. In short, if you should choose to have an online shop developed by TOSD you can expect that:
- Your online solution will be delivered to a fixed price, on time and on budget.
- Your online solution will be structurally sound and operational from the moment it is commissioned.
- You will receive support in the early stages of running your new online shop as you have never known it before.
TOSD was created principally to meet the needs of Australian Small Businesses who are intending to sell their products online. This is an important point. Online Shops are about selling. And whether they have thousands of products, or just a few services, their entire underlying structure must be designed to support that key function.
Certainly online shops and small business websites designed by TOSD are attractive, engaging and extremely functional, but they generally do not feature highly complex (and often distracting) graphical elements. When a customer logs on to an online shop by TOSD, the visual "ambience" will be designed to enhance the content, while the underlying functionality will efficiently meet their needs. Not a lot different to a "bricks and mortar" shop really.
In summary, TOSD is about putting Australian Small Businesses online to market their products or services. That is my focus.
